Santiago Casilla is no longer the Giants’ full-time closer as Bruce Bochy told reporters in Arizona ahead of Friday’s game that he will use a closer-by-committee strategy moving forward.
Bruce Bochy just used a lot of words to tell us he's going to closer by committee.

Casilla could be used in 8th, and yes, 9th. Strong inference is that Derek Law will get a shot to close after he's activated Monday.

Casilla, although he was credited with a hold, played a large part in the Giants’ ugly loss Wednesday in the series finale against the Rockies. He also blew a save Sunday against the Cubs in Chicago and has seven blown saves on the season, which is tied for the MLB lead. His save percentage of 81.6 percent is second-to-last in the league among closers with at least 30 appearances in save situations.
