Cal Mathews

California Golden Bears junior guard Jordan Mathews announced he will be transferring from UC Berkeley. He averaged 13.5 points in just under 30 minutes per game last season and shot 41.6 percent from three-point range.

With Mathews leaving, Cal now has an open scholarship spot on its roster. According to CBS Sports, Kentucky power forward Marcus Lee visited Cal on Tuesday and the Bears are a favorite to land him. He is a Bay Area native and attended Deer Valley High School in Antioch. Lee averaged 6.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in the 2015-16 season. If he decides to transfer to Cal, he will be required to sit out the 2016-17 season, per NCAA rules.
