This will be Cain’s first start since August 16, when lasted four innings against the Marlins, allowing five runs — two earned — while striking out seven. It’ll be his first start at AT&T Park since July 24 when he gave up six runs — again just two earned — also in four innings. As both a starter and reliever, Cain has a 5.75 ERA in 25 appearances in 2017.
