Spring has yet to spring in most of the country as the sun came up on Friday, February 20. But in Scottsdale Arizona and all around the Phoenix valley, the crack of the bat and the pop of the glove has been serenading the desert for nearly two weeks now. Spring has sprung for the San Francisco Giants, officially stamped by Murph & Markus, who made their annual pilgrimage to the valley of the sun on Thursday and Friday for Giants Spring Training.
As is his nature, Willy Adames kicked off the party with the morning show bright and early on Thursday. Adames, who endeared himself to Giants fans in his first season in 2025, was quick to ignite excitement for 2026 and all that is new. Check out the full interview with Adames at the KNBR YouTube channel below.
Murph & Markus also closed the book on a nearly week long saga that began on Monday, when new manager Tony Vitello went on an interesting tangent regarding his departure from Tennessee in October. Vitello clarified what his intention was, while also reminding the morning show that he will always fight for his guys.
MURPH: "The one we all freaked out about — when you said 'If I knew who leaked the tweet, history would have changed.'"

VITELLO: "It would have been a smoother transition in the state of Tennessee but it wouldn’t have changed anything with SF."

Luis Arraez chimed in with a call to action for Giants fans before he’s even played a game at Third & King. Asked about the mystique and hype of playing the Latin winter leagues, Arraez wants to see a rowdy atmosphere at Oracle Park.
"I wanna say something to the fans..."
