Marshawn Lynch ejected after sprinting off bench, shoving official

OAKLAND–Who ever said Thursday Night Football was boring?

On a 3rd and 10 play for the Raiders in the second quarter, Oakland called a quarterback keeper for Derek Carr. The play was a complete bust, as Carr was held up at the line of scrimmage.

As Carr was getting tackled Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters flew into the fray. Peters took a late shot at Carr as the quarterback was going to the ground. Right away Raiders and Chiefs got into a shoving match, as referees flagged Peters for the hit.

Enter Marshawn Lynch.

Oakland’s very own sprinted into the fray off the bench to defend his quarterback. When he got to the crowd, he tried to fight his way to Peters, and shoved line judge Julian Mapp. Mapp immediately threw the flag, and ejected Lynch from the game.

Yeah, not the smartest football play of all time.

We’d say stick around with KNBR.com to hear from Marshawn after the game, but Henry Wofford of KRON 4 is reporting that Lynch has already left Oakland Coliseum in street clothes.

Lynch is well known for his distaste for postgame interviews, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise.
