General manager Bobby Evans gave an update on two players who missed significant portions of the 2017 season with injuries in a conference call with reporters on Monday.
#SFGiants: Christian Arroyo had a new plate put in the same hand he injured this summer. Jarrett Parker had plate in his clavicle removed.

The setbacks mean neither player will be able to participate in Winter Ball — something Evans is disappointed about — but both are still expected to be good to go for Spring Training.
Arroyo, 22, got off to a hot start after being called up for the first time last season, but fell back to Earth quickly, finishing with a line of .192/.244/.304 in 34 games with the big league club. Arroyo’s season then came to an end after he was sent back down to AAA Sacramento, suffering a fractured hand as a result of a hit by pitch.
Parker, 28, opened the 2017 season as the team’s starting left fielder after winning the job in Spring Training, but broke his clavicle in just the 15th game of the season when he slammed into the left-field wall while making a leaping catch. Parker didn’t return until early August.
Giants Spring Training begins on February 23.
