Watch out, Draymond Green.
Watch out, Warriors.
Golden State is officially next on the list of teams Philadelphia 76ers’ center Joel Embiid can’t wait to play, and on Friday, the always-entertaining Embiid relayed the message he has for Green to reporters.
“I mean, I saw Draymond this summer and I told him that I was going to kick his ass. I can’t wait to play against him,” Embiid said. “I love the way he talks trash and I feel like I’m kind of like the same and I feel like it’s going to be a fun battle, especially going against you know, Steph, Klay, KD. Still haven’t played against them so I’m excited.”
The 23-year-old Embiid is in his second NBA season, but only played 31 games last season and missed both of Philadelphia’s contests against Golden State. A 7-foot big man with the athleticism to step out and hit jump shots as well as handle the ball, Embiid has made a name for himself throughout the NBA thanks to his willingness to talk trash and his fiery social media persona.
During the NBA preseason, Embiid took on Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside, and in the midst of their Twitter feud, Embiid made a reference to Warriors’ star Kevin Durant when he tweeted that he “thought I was using my burner account.”
The Warriors and 76ers will square off on Saturday night at Oracle Arena at 5:30.
