Green shares funny story about how Kerr told him he’d rest vs. Chicago

OAKLAND–Draymond Green likes playing basketball. A lot.

Steve Kerr knows this, so he chose to be very diplomatic when he told his power forward about how he was planning on resting him against the Chicago Bulls this past Friday.

Kerr picked out the game on the calendar weeks ago as a rest day and told Draymond. At the time, Green was happy with the decision. But as the team approached the game, Green said he forgot.

“You know how somebody asks you to do something and it’s like, ‘Oh yeah I’ll do that.’ And then it comes around and you like, ‘Why did I agree to do that?’ Kerr got me like that the other day.”

Green’s absence will make no difference on the Warriors’ final record (the team smashed Chicago 143-94), but resting one of Golden State’s most high-octane players on back-to-backs might make a difference in the team’s quest for a third championship in four years.
