The San Francisco Giants officially announced their Opening Day roster on Thursday, ahead of their 2018 opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Five players will begin the season on the disabled list, most notably Mark Melancon, who still has not fully recovered from right forearm surgery last year. Twenty-five year old right-hander Reyes Moronta will take his place on the Opening Day roster. Rule 5 Draft pick Julian Fernandez will begin the season on the 60-day DL with a UCL sprain.
