SAN FRANCISCO — Hitting a home run out of AT&T Park is tough. Hitting a foul ball that lands into a fan’s beer is even tougher.
Joe Panik has done both over the last two days.

Before working a walk against Felix Hernandez, Panik sent a foul ball into the left-field stands. It missed an eager fan’s glove, landing directly into the adjacent cupholder and spilling the beer in it.
Although the fan was unable to reel in a foul ball for his daughter, broadcasters Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper made sure she was well compensated.

By the time Panik stepped up to the plate in the second inning, the Giants had already jumped ahead of the Seattle Mariners 4-0.
Panik started the game with a walk and eventually scored on a bases-loaded walk by Pablo Sandoval. The Giants added to their lead as Brandon Belt ran home on a wild pitch and tacked on another with a sacrifice fly. The following inning, Gorkys Hernandez led off with his first home run of the season.
