The Warriors provided an update on the status of guard Patrick McCaw on Thursday, who has been out of action since a scary fall against the Kings on March 31, that saw him leave the floor on a stretcher. Steve Kerr called the incident the scariest thing he’s ever seen on a basketball court.
McCaw received an MRI shortly after the incident that showed no structural damage. The Warriors provided another update on Thursday, saying that McCaw has been diagnosed with a lumbosacral bone bruise, and will be re-evaluated in four weeks. McCaw is likely to miss all of the first and second round of the NBA Playoffs, and it’s unclear at this point if he will return this season.

The news puts a dent in the Warriors already thin guard rotation, that will now be without both McCaw and Stephen Curry for at least the first round. Quinn Cook, Shaun Livingston, Klay Thompson, and Nick Young are the four Warriors guards currently available.
