OAKLAND – Cue The Pink Panther’s theme music.
Heading into the playoffs Nick Young was getting significant playing time for the Golden State Warriors. For the final 18 games of the regular season the 10-year veteran played at least 20 minutes. That playing time was helped by the absence of Stephen Curry in the lineup, but Young played well for Golden State down the stretch.
Saturday afternoon Young found him watching his Warriors dominate the San Antonio Spurs in the first game of the NBA Playoffs. Young was only on the floor for eight minutes, none of which were of much importance.
Late in the fourth quarter during Young’s time on the court, the USC product was waiting beyond the arc when Davis Bertans shot his first of two free-throws. Bertans shot the first of two, and Young crashed the board. Young then appeared to realize his mistake, and slowly backed into a spot where he could rebound for the second shot.
Don’t worry Nick, no one noticed.
