SAN DIEGO — During spring training, Mac Williamson made the San Francisco Giants’ decision to send him back down to Triple-A Sacramento a difficult one. With a revamped swing, he batted .318 with four home runs, two doubles, and only 13 strikeouts in 20 games in Arizona.
Even now, Williamson is batting .500 (14-for-28) with a .611 OBP at Triple-A Sacramento. He’s hit a home run in his last five games, totaling five homers over eight games.
Meanwhile, the Giants are ranked 22nd with 13 homers and 27th with 45 runs scored this season. They are 18-for-106 with runner’s in scoring position.
Nonetheless, Bruce Bochy isn’t ready to rearrange his roster quite yet.
“You never know,” Bochy said. “It’s still early. They haven’t played that many games there. Let these guys get some playing time and get settled in, just like our guys.
“Right now, we have no plans to make any changes.”
