SAN FRANCISCO — After hitting nearly .500 at Triple-A Sacramento, Mac Williamson is already crushing homers with the big league club.
On Monday evening, Williamson saw just one pitch from Nationals relief pitcher Shawn Kelley, crushing a 464-foot opposite field home run, and giving the Giants a 4-1 lead in the sixth inning.
After Hunter Pence was placed on the disabled list last week with a sprained thumb, Williamson was called up by the Giants on Friday. In his second at-bat in the majors this year, Williamson launched a 2-run home run that ignited the team, and resulted in a six-run inning for the offensively waning Giants.
This is Williamson’s second two-run home run in his first four games.
