OAKLAND — After squeaking out a series win against the San Antonio Spurs 99-91 on Tuesday evening, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shared an embrace with former teammate Manu Ginobili as the two made their way off the floor of Oracle Arena.

“I want you to keep playing, I really do.” Kerr said to Ginobili. “Keep going okay? Why not?

“We met Roger Federer this year in China. I said, ‘why do you keep playing?’ He said, ‘I love it.’ If you love it keep going, what the hell.”

After the game, Kerr elaborated on his relationship with Manu.

“That’s my guy. We were teammates in 2003, a long time ago, and it’s amazing to see him out there continuing to play, and play with so much joy and passion. So I’m hoping that’s not his last game and I just told him I hope he keeps playing because he’s amazing for the league and so fun to watch night in and night out.”
