Tuesday will be Curry’s first game action since March 8, when he suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain. In his absence, the Warriors have gone 5-1 in the postseason.
“If it were up to me, I would have played for about 20 minutes tonight,” Curry told Haynes on Saturday after sitting out Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinal. “The plan is to return Tuesday, but ultimately it’s up to the training staff. I feel good.”
The return spells big trouble for the Pelicans, who were thrashed 123-101 with Curry on the bench in Game 1, after sweeping their first round series with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Curry, 30, finished the 2017-18 regular season averaging 26.4 points, 6.1 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game while shooting 42.3 percent from three. He also finished fourth in the NBA in real-plus minus.
