The Giants are rolling, and so is Brandon Crawford.
Crawford once again showed why he’s the leading All-Star vote getter by a significant margin amongst NL shortstops on Wednesday evening, hitting a solo blast over the right-field wall to break a 0-0 tie, giving the Giants their fourth consecutive win. The Giants have now won seven of their last eight games, sit 4.5 games back of the the Diamondbacks for the NL West lead, and 1.5 games back of the second wild card slot.
Crawford went 2-for-4 in Wednesday’s ballgame, increasing his batting average to .319, the third-highest figure amongst NL hitters, and the eighth best in the Major Leagues. Crawford is also boasting career-highs in on-base percentage (.374) and slugging percentage (.496).
This is the second walk-off win for the Giants in their last three games, with Hunter Pence hitting a two-run, RBI double to win Sunday’s game vs. the Padres.
