Curry hits ridiculous underhand circus shot to cap 23-point first quarter

OAKLAND – Are we still doing #StephBetter? Because right now Stephen Curry is better than the Washington Wizards.

Through Golden State’s first four games Curry had hit 22 3-pointers, a league record. He’d hit five threes in every one of those games. It took one quarter to hit five against the Wizards on Wednesday.

Curry had 23 – yes, 23 points in the first quarter – and his most impressive shot of the early period didn’t even count towards his totals.

With just under two minutes left in the quarter, Satoransky fouled Curry on the floor. Steph – never one to pass up an open shot – immediately threw a moonball at the rafters.

Splash.

The craziest part of the whole ordeal is that it wasn’t the first shot of it’s kind that Curry has hit in the building today. During pregame he hit an almost identical shot, although he needed a bounce:

Curry played all 12 minutes of the first period against Washington. He went 8-for-11 from the floor and 5-for-6 from deep. He even threw in an assist and a rebound for good measure.

What we’d give to have Curry’s shooting ability for just a couple hours…
