Though he wouldn’t say so, the numbers indicate that Klay Thompson has been in a slump to start the 2018-19 season, especially from 3-point range. Entering Saturday’s game, Thompson was posting his lowest field-goal percentage since 2012-13 (44 percent) and the worst 3-point percentage of his career (33.7 percent), while also attempting more shots than he ever has (18.7 per game).
Things finally turned around for Klay in the Warriors’ 115-105 win over the Trail Blazers. Thompson led the Warriors with 32 points, going 12-of-21 and 4-of-5 from deep. After knocking down his fourth 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter, cameras caught Thompson talking to his right hand, appearing to say “I missed you.”
Thompson was asked about the moment after the game.
“Just I missed you, it’s good to see you again,” Thompson said he told his hand. “It’s been a five game absence or so where he hasn’t been the same so to finally see the ball go in at a high rate felt really good. Just keep being aggressive and hopefully get on a great roll from here.”

Thompson was asked if he knew that the moment went viral, which led to a revelation that he doesn’t spend much time on the internet.
“I haven’t, but the internet is a very volatile place,” he said. “I don’t try to be on there too much because it’s a lot of range of emotions. Mass information is crazy. I try to read books and stay away as much as I can during the season because you can drive yourself crazy if you get into Twitter spats with people.”
