After finishing second overall in All-Star voting, Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will be tasked with drafting a team to go against LeBron James’ squad in the All-Star Game on Feb. 17.
Last year Stephen Curry drafted against LeBron, and selected Giannis with his first pick. This year, Antetokounmpo said he’s planning to return the favor if Steph is still available.
“I might pick Steph because he picked me first last year, so I have to return the favor,” Antetokounmpo said Monday’s win vs. the Nets. “After that, I think it is going to be random.”
Curry received the most votes amongst Western Conference guards, and was voted as a starter for the sixth-consecutive season. Last year, Curry put together a starting five of Antetokounmpo, DeMar DeRozan, Joel Embiid, and James Harden.
Antetokounmpo says he intends to make a list of his preferred roster, and that he’s targeting young players and teammate Kris Middleton.
“I am going to try to make a team that is going to play hard,” Antetokounmpo said. “I think I am going to go with the young players.”
