Cousins called for technical foul after taunting Baynes

OAKLAND — It seemed like a game ripe for a physical altercation.

With the outcome all but decided early in the fourth quarter, neither the Golden State Warriors or the Boston Celtics had turned down the intensity. Both teams continued to whip the ball around the court, but only the visitors were hitting shots.

DeMarcus Cousins was the only starter left on the court, and most of the offense was running through the big man. At one point he tried to back down Aron Baynes and was called for an offensive foul.

Cousins – we can only assume – disagreed with the call, so he decided to stand over Baynes and bark at him. Enter Jayson Tatum. Enter Terry Rozier.

When the scuffle had subsided head referee Ed Malloy hit Cousins and Rozier with the double technical. Cousins’ techincal was his sixth of the year, moving him into the top ten list of the year – in only 17 games.

The Warriors have lost some bad games this year, but this might be the most forgettable performance of the year.
