After Thursday’s shut-out loss to the Padres, Giants manager Bruce Bochy is rolling out a new starting lineup before Friday’s contest.

The opening day loss produced not a single run of offense, and had Bochy discussing possible shakeups immediately after the game.

Friday’s lineup features multiple changes, including a new lead-off man and the first look at the Giants backup catcher Erik Kratz.

Steven Duggar led off yesterday and has been selected as the team’s leadoff hitter, but Bochy very quickly decided to mix things up and experiment with newly-acquired Michael Reed. Buster Posey felt good after yesterday’s game and told reporters that he will be playing again today, but was unsure of what position.

With uncertainty surrounding outfielders Connor Joe as well as Reed, it’s important that the two get at-bats early on to get a better understanding of what they can bring to the team.

The Giants are a team that has struggled against lefties, and today they see another lefty in San Diego starter Joey Lucchesi.
