This marks the first time the two teams have faced in the postseason during the Steve Kerr-era. They last met during the 2014 playoffs, with the Warriors losing to LA in seven games spelling the end of the Mark Jackson-era. The loss proved to be a turning point for the franchise. The Warriors have made it to the NBA Finals in the four seasons since then.
The teams faced four times during the regular season, with the Clippers lone win coming in the first matchup on Nov. 12. The Warriors won the next three, including a 131-104 victory on April 7 in the final ever regular season game at Oracle Arena.
