Klay Thompson isn’t going to stop listening to Raptors superfan Drake during the NBA Finals, but only songs that put him in the right mood. The always unintentionally entertaining Warriors guard said as much at media day Wednesday morning in Toronto.
“If it’s a bad song I’ll skip it, but if it’s one of his hits I’ll play it,” Thompson said. “I’ve been a Drake fan since I was in high school. He’s a great artist.
“Do I like him as a Raptor fan? No. I like him as a musician, he’s extremely talented, but I will definitely skip a song if I don’t like it. If it’s one of his soft R&B songs I’ll skip it cause I’m in kill mode right now, trying to get these four games.
“I’ll skip Hotline Bling and anything along that line.”
Drake made headlines during the previous series for his on-court antics that included giving Toronto coach Nick Nurse a shoulder rub during a game. Despite being a Toronto native, Drake is also friends with a number of Warriors players, and has tattoos of Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant’s numbers on his left arm.
His presence should only add another level of entertainment to the series.
