Sergio Romo shared the same field with a number of his former teammates when the Marlins faced the Giants for a three-game series this week. He was also reunited with former manager Bruce Bochy. The two won three World Series Titles together in 2010, 2012, and 2014, and Romo played his entire Giants stint from 2008-2016 for the legendary Giants manager.

To show his appreciation for Bochy, Romo gave his former manager a gift before Tuesday’s game: a 1942 bottle of Don Julio tequila.

“I went over there before (the) game,” Romo told MLB.com. “I went over there and said, ‘What’s up?’ I had a gift for him. I gave him a token of appreciation for the faith and trust that he had in me for all those years. I feel I can count the amount of people that have taken a chance on me in my life on two hands, and he’s on that. He’s one of those fingers.”

Romo was a dominant reliever for much of his time playing under Bochy, posting a 2.58 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 84 saves over 515 appearances in his nine years with the club. Romo also made his only All-Star appearance in 2013.

“I talked to him. He came by. I had a nice talk with him,” Bochy said on Tuesday. “It was great to see him. Happy he’s still doing well. I’ll never forget what he did for us in the bullpen and the good times we’ve had.”
