It may take more than a couple of days to find out where Kevin Durant is headed this summer. While the NBA free agency period opens at 6 p.m. ET on June 30, Durant will likely need more time than that to decide where he’ll spend the next four-to-five years of his career.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant will take meetings with the Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers when the NBA’s free agency period opens on the 30th, and his decision on what offer he takes may not be made until “well into next week.”
Story filed to ESPN: Golden State’s Kevin Durant is planning to engage four teams in discussions upon the opening of NBA free agency on Sunday – the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and Warriors, league sources tell ESPN.

Wojnarowski also reported that the Warriors are prepared and planning to offer Durant the full “supermax” offer of five years, $221 million, which is roughly $55 million more than the four-year, $164.6 million maximum offer that any of the Nets, Knicks or Clippers can offer Durant due to the Warriors holding Durant’s bird rights, plus the All-NBA benchmarks Durant has hit to qualify himself for the supermax.
