The deadline seemed like it had passed. Drew Pomeranz and Ray Black were sent to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for one of the Brewers’ top middle infield prospects, Mauricio Dubon, and Mark Melancon (who has another pricey year left on his deal) was sent to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for an underwhelming reliever and backend pitching prospect.

That seemed to be all.

Then, after the 1 p.m. deadline (4 p.m. ET) seemed shut, it was reported that Sam Dyson was also on the move to the Minnesota Twins.

In exchange for Dyson, the Giants reportedly received a triplet of prospects from the Twins: Prelander Berroa, Jaylin Davis and Kai-Wei Teng, according to Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register. Berroa is a 19-year-old pitching prospect from the Dominican Republic with a 4.55 ERA in 7 games in the Appalachian League, Davis is a 25-year-old right fielder drafted in the 24th round of the 2015 MLB draft who batted .331 in 41 Triple-A games this season, and Teng is a 20-year-old pitching prospect signed out of Taiwan with a 1.60 ERA in nine Single-A games this season.

According to Dereck Rodriguez, who played with Davis when he was with the Twins, Davis can, “hit the shit out of the ball.”

But that was far from all that the Giants did after 1 p.m. had passed. According to Jeff Passan, the Giants also acquired second baseman Scooter Gennett from the Cincinatti Reds.

…as well as Joe McCarthy from the Tampa Bay Rays, who’s batting .196 in 41 Triple-A games this season.

UPDATE: Gennett was trade for cash considerations, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

UPDATE part two:

McCarthy was traded for left-handed minor-league pitcher Jacob Lopez, a 21-year-old with a 3.02 ERA with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
