It’s not Mike Yastrzemski in Boston, but Jaylin Davis quietly wants his own moment during the Giants’ road trip.

Davis, who grew up in North Carolina, is excited to visit Atlanta, where family, his girlfriend and friends — maybe around 20-30 in total, he said — will help fill out SunTrust Park.

“I’m trying to be ready by then,” Davis told KNBR on Sunday after he suffered a left wrist contusion Thursday upon being struck by a 97-mph fastball.

After a three-game set in Fenway Park, the Giants play the Braves on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Davis doesn’t know how his wrist will react, but he and his family are hoping he’ll be able to go.

Davis said he would take Monday off and then try to swing Tuesday for the first time since he was drilled. On Friday, he wasn’t able to rotate his wrist; after Sunday’s game, he said the swelling “has gone down a lot” and his mobility was improving.

The 25-year-old, who dominated at Triple-A Sacramento before struggling during his September call-up, going 3-for-21 in seven games, has said he needs to stop pressing at the plate. His family will try to help him exhale.

The Corban Joseph era is officially over after eight games. The Pirates claimed the DFA’d infielder on Monday.
