SF Giants: COVID tests from Scottsdale facility come back negative

On the verge of the baseball season, the Giants got good coronavirus news.

Everyone tested for COVID-19 from their Scottsdale Stadium facility has tested negative, the team announced Tuesday.

The Giants had closed the facility Friday after one person who had been in the facility and one family member exhibited symptoms a day prior. About 20 people were tested; it is unclear if players were checked.

Cases in Arizona have been spiking, one of several reasons that spring training 2.0 is expected to take place at Oracle Park and not Scottsdale Stadium.

If the Players Association agrees with the two stipulations MLB presented Monday, which is likely, the Giants will start practicing again as a team July 1.
