The switch from a lefty to a righty will likely have a significant impact on the Giants’ platoon heavy lineup, which should be announced shortly. In 49 career games vs. the Giants, Kershaw has posted 1.74 ERA while allowing a batting average of .200.
May, 22, a former third-round pick, has just four career starts and 14 major league appearances. He’s posted a 3.63 ERA and an impressive 1.09 WHIP in those games.
Right-hander Johnny Cueto will get the start for the Giants.
