That’s one we’re going to remember for a long time.
The 49ers won in thrilling fashion on Sunday night in Cincinnati, with a walk-off 26-23 victory in overtime. Brandon Aiyuk was the hero, catching a screen pass in the left flat at the Bengals’ 13-yard line, and taking it all the way into the end zone, tip-toeing on the sideline before diving and stretching the ball over the pylon.
Aiyuk was originally ruled out at the 1 yard-line, but replays concluded that he somehow kept his feet in bounds before scoring.
The TD concluded a wild contest, one in which the 49ers blew a 20-6 lead, and then gave up a field goal at the beginning of overtime. Jimmy Garoppolo was very impressive on the final drive, taking the 49ers 75 yards on seven plays and going 6-for-6 in four minutes and 22 seconds.
The win moves the 49ers to 7-6 and gives them a firmer grasp on sixth place in the NFC wild-card standings.
