After losing two of three to the lowly White Sox and dropping the first two in Arizona, a 10 game road trip that was looked at as an opportunity to gain ground in the NL Standings looked more like a bruising skid that could spiral into a fatal nose dive. Five days later, the Giants are once again breathing ahead of the biggest week of the season to date. Somehow, San Francisco escaped what started as the road trip from hell with a 5-5 mark after salvaging a four game split and taking two of three from the Athletics.
It’s a long season, and no team has been more cruel to reactionary fans than the 2025 Giants. A chance for these Giants to catch their breath is still one long week away, as two division leaders and the Phillies and Dodgers come to Oracle Park to close the first half.
Mike Krukow joined the morning show on Monday morning for his weekly segment with Murph & Markus. He brought his usual insightful wit, conveying a positive confidence that seemed long lost just five days back. One of the keys to the Giants run of four of five and the sudden offensive jolt has, finally, been Willy Adames. Krukow praised his role in a nearly complete Giants lineup with Murph & Markus.
Krukow didn’t mince words about Adames’ start to his long Giants tenure, calling it “horrendous” but his numbers have vastly improved over the last four weeks. His average is up nearly 30 points to .226. He’s blasted a respectable 11 home runs, and a once abhorrent OPS is steaming towards .700, sitting at .684. He’s as imperative as any piece of the Giants lineup if the team is planning on playing October baseball.
