Former NFL running back Brandon Jacobs’ time with the 49ers was short lived and rocky. He had only five carries during his lone season in 2012, and was eventually released for complaining about his playing time on social media.

After blowing his first save opportunity of the year on Opening Day vs. the Diamondbacks and landing on the DL for the first time in his career, Melancon hasn’t been living up to those expectations. Kevin Frandsen of the Audible, KNBR 1050’s morning show, says it’s too early to be concerned about Melancon and that Giants fans will look back at his contract as a major success.
