Bruce Bochy let loose a bit Monday night and earned his second ejection of the year just two innings into a blowout 10-3 loss at the hands of the Pirates.

Giants’ manager Bruce Bochy lasted roughly a half hour before he was ejected from Monday evening’s ballgame at AT&T Park. Unfortunately for the San Francisco skipper, he’d already watched the game be decided.

Bruce Bochy won’t be in the dugout for much of the Giants’ Monday evening matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Not that he would want to watch Monday’s mess, anyway.

In Jae-gyun Hwang’s MLB debut, he clubbed his first career home run and helped lead a struggling Giants team to a win, but failed to produce much offensively in the coming weeks. Though Hwang played a strong third base, he recorded just six hits in 36 at-bats before San Francisco decided to option him back to AAA.

Over the next two months, the fourth-place Padres, fresh off a series victory over the Giants, will take an extensive look at prospects and players they believe can help impact the future and make San Diego a winning ballclub moving forward. At this point in the year, with a 38-62 record, San Francisco would love to follow suit, but a remarkable amount of the organization’s prospects are injured.

Ahead of the Giants’ series opener against Pittsburgh on Monday night, Bochy was cautious in giving a definitive timeline on Sandoval and his track to the big club, but said it will rest largely on the 30-year-old himself and his play on the field.

The San Francisco Giants’ top pitching prospect is inching closer to the Major League level, and after a seven-inning effort in his last outing, there was reason to believe Tyler Beede would receive a shot with the big league club in the coming weeks.
