SAN FRANCISCO – The 2018 season has been rife with injuries for the San Francisco Giants. Before Monday night’s game, manager Bruce Bochy gave updated the injury timetables for Madison Bumgarner, Joe Panik, Mark Melancon, and Alan Hansen.
In the third inning of Sunday’s game vs. the Pirates, Giants pitcher Derek Holland stepped into the batter’s box with no outs and a runner on first. Holland’s job was straightforward: lay down a bunt to advance the runner to second base, putting him in scoring position with one out, and the top of the lineup upcoming.
The Giants have been without Madison Bumgarner all season, after the ace broke the pinkie on his throwing hand during his final tune-up start in spring training. The San Francisco Giants have a top two pick in the MLB Draft for the first time since 1985. Executive editor of Baseball America JJ Cooper joined the latest episode of The Krueg Show Podcast with Larry Krueger, and broke down the Giants options with the No. 2 overall pick.
On Tuesday, Gary Radnich asked Giants general manager Bobby Evans about Posey’s decline in power over the years. Evans presented two possible theories.
