It goes without saying that injuries to your top three players down the stretch of an NBA season would be classified as a negative. That’s what has happened to the Golden State Warriors over the last week, with Stephen Curry (ankle), Klay Thompson (thumb) and Kevin Durant (ribs) all sidelined for the last three games.

A little over a week ago in the first round of the NCAA Tournament the Davidson Wildcats met the Kentucky Wildcats in the first round. Little did they know there was much more on the line than just a trip to the second round.

After missing six games with a sprained right ankle, Stephen Curry has been cleared to return to practice in full following a re-evaluation on Tuesday, the team has announced. The update is in line with an ESPN report that surfaced Monday evening, stating that Curry is targeting a return to the floor on Friday, when the Warriors face the Hawks at Oracle Arena.

Stephen Curry is hoping to return from his right ankle sprain on Friday when the Warriors host the Hawks at Oracle Arena, according to Chris Haynes of ESPN. Curry will be re-evaluated on Tuesday by team doctors, and if there are no setbacks, he should be back in the lineup after missing six games. Golden State is 2-4 during Curry’s absence.
