Whether or not the Golden State Warriors would take a trip to the White House and meet President Donald Trump after winning last year’s Championship was the hot topic at Friday’s media day at the team’s facility in downtown Oakland.

The Warriors were probably never going to go to the White House. But President Donald Trump just made their decision very easy.

On Saturday morning, President Donald Trump sent out a tweet disinviting Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors from the White House, after Curry and a number of other Warriors said they were not interested in making the traditional DC visit after winning the NBA Finals last season.

The ongoing drama that has been the Warriors’ decision to visit Donald Trump’s White House is over after President Trump rescinded the offer due to the hesitancy of the team, calling out Stephen Curry by name.

Throughout the day, general manager Bob Myers, head coach Steve Kerr, and nearly all of the Warriors’ players were asked about a potential visit to the White House to celebrate the team’s 2017 NBA Championship.

JaVale McGee probably anticipated talking more about the Warriors’ offensive or defensive strategies. Instead, at Golden State’s media day on Friday, McGee ended up talking about his social media strategy.
