New details have emerged regarding Jerry West’s recent departure from the Warriors front office to join the Los Angeles Clippers. According to Sam Amick of USA Today, West’s relationship with the Warriors became fractured toward the end of his tenure, due partially to a disagreement regarding compensation.

The Cleveland Cavaliers pursuit of Jimmy Butler and Paul George has reportedly hit a roadblock, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com. The lack of interest in All-Star forward Kevin Love, who the Cavs have been shopping as the primary chip in the deal, is the leading cause for the breakdown.

With 10 members of the 2016-17 Warriors slated to hit free agency this offseason, a handful of ring-chasing veterans have already been floated as potential candidates to fill out Golden State’s bench next year.

ESPN reporter, and Cleveland Cavaliers beat writer, Dave McMenamin, created quite a stir on Twitter Tuesday night, when he tweeted a list of his eight “franchise changing solo talents” in the NBA, and decided to omit two-time MVP Stephen Curry.

The Clippers could possibly be trading nine-year veteran DeAngelo Jordan.

There are other players the Warriors may be able to woo with this whole “ring chasing” philosophy. It’s not cliche, it’s true. Using David West is a prime example. It looked like his career was dwindling in San Antonio, but Kerr and Myers were able to craft the proper role for him. West thrived in what he called the most memorable season of his career in the locker room moments after winning the championship.
