    Matt Cain called a team meeting at 11:30 Wednesday morning, and 15 minutes later, he told reporters that he called it to tell his teammates that his Saturday start at AT&T Park will be his last. The 13-year veteran plans on retiring.

    “To be able to go through all of that entire process with an organization is special. To be able to be a part of a group that has had some really rough seasons and to be able to say that we had some amazing seasons and we won it all.”

    Giants’ pitcher Matt Cain announces retirement

    On Wednesday morning, Giants’ pitcher Matt Cain announced that his Saturday start will be the final outing of his Major League career. The 13th year veteran came up with the Giants in 2005, and won three World Series rings with the orange and black.
