The last two days have been an absolute whirlwind for the Golden State Warriors, but Marcus Thompson stopped by the Tolbert & Lund show on Monday to suggest that the Warriors might not be done making moves.
Iguodala’s value is mitigated significantly on a rebuilding Memphis team, making him a likely buyout candidate, something that would make him an unrestricted free agent. If that happens, expect a certain Warriors rival to come calling according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.
The casualty of all this is veteran wing Andre Iguodala, who will head to the Memphis Grizzlies in a trade, along with a first-round draft pick, in order to clear the necessary cap space for the Warriors to make the deal work.
It was off to such a promising start. Kevin Durant looked healthy, active and much like his old self. Then, with one cut, Durant’s night, and likely his season, was over.
Sunday night’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals was a weird, injury-riddled, exciting mess of a game that featured the Warriors at their most imperious and most defiant.
