Alright class, please take out your pencils and some scratch paper because Tommy Tolbert is about to take you to school.

This week we put the Alvarado Street Salad Bowl in front of Tom to try, and low and behold, he loved it. It’s a Yeast Driven IPA with 7% ABV.

For the second year Alvarado Street Brewery in Monterey and Moonraker in Auburn have combined to create the Moonraker Double IPA.

For someone who drinks a lot of beer Tom sure had trouble opening this one.

On this Friday’s Beer Review, Tom Tolbert presents Ballast Brewing’s Sculpin, a fruity IPA with enticing flavors such as grapefruit, pineapple, and their Watermelon Dorado. This Sculpin is easily accessible and the best beer to purchase at your local grocery store. These fruity flavors aren’t too sweet–you get an instant burst of the fruit and then the beer bite kicks in.
