BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — California defensive back Bryce Turner has died after being hospitalized for a medical emergency during a non-team workout. He was 19.

Graduate transfer Davis Webb named starting QB at Cal
Davis Webb, who joined Cal this spring as a graduate transfer from Texas Tech, is the new starting quarterback for the Golden Bears. Coach Sonny Dykes said Thursday that Davis’ maturity and knowledge put him ahead of the other quarterbacks who were vying to succeed Jared Goff.
