Hundley, 34, will again hit free agency this offseason, and while the Giants would like to bring him back, he’s also sure to have a number of suitors on the open market.
John Lund asked Giants broadcaster Duane Kuiper if the typically mild manager is close to snapping after blowing another lead on Monday, but Kuiper said that ship sailed long ago.
“He’s going to come back earlier than people think. I know that they want him to have x amount of innings and appearances before he comes back. He’s doing a lot of work. He told us earlier when this [injury] happened, that he was definitely a quick healer and that he might bounce back from this and be ok. So far he hasn’t been wrong.”
On Murph & Mac Tuesday morning, Duane Kuiper joined to discuss the fight between Bryce Harper and Hunter Strickland that took place in yesterday’s loss to the Nationals.
With right-fielder Hunter Pence being placed on the 10-day DL with a left hamstring strain, the Giant’s options in the outfield are starting to wear thin. However, San Francisco was given a glimmer of hope Monday with the performance of Mac Williamson. In his first game since being called up from Triple-A, Williamson went two for four with an RBI single and did a solid job defensively subbing in for Pence in right field.
Giants broadcaster Duane Kuiper joined the Murph and Mac Show on Tuesday morning and was impressed with Christian Arroyo’s ability to affect the game without getting a hit in his major league debut.
The San Francisco Giants have signed broadcasters Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper each to multi-year contract extensions, club President and Chief Executive Officer Larry Baer announced today.
