San Francisco 49er legend and the man responsible for arguably the most important play in franchise history Dwight Clark announced Monday on Twitter that he has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

On Sunday evening, former 49ers All-Pro wide receiver Dwight Clark released a statement announcing he has been diagnosed with ALS. Clark, 60, revealed he has been dealing with symptoms of the disease since September 2015.
