Former Super Bowl winning head coach and 49ers assistant Mike Holmgren joined Gary & Larry on Thursday before San Francisco’s game against the Rams, and said that as long as they can protect him, he believes Beathard would benefit most from playing right now.

When asked by Gary & Larry on Monday if there is anything 49ers fans can hang their collective hats on heading into a tough Week 2 matchup at Seattle, 49ers beat writer Eric Branch provided a single silver lining.
