The Washington Redskins said 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster will not play a down until the legal process plays out.

One day after he was officially released, the former 49ers linebacker has a new home.

Washington is going to play this season out with Cousins, pray they make the playoffs, pray the 49ers are an absolute disaster in Year 1 of Shanahan and hope they can convince Cousins that he belongs in D.C. The problem with that approach is they just ridiculed him publicly 10 days before training camp in an almost unheard of fashion.

Reports came out yesterday that Cousins would still be open to considering an offer on a multiyear contract from Washington next offseason, but it’s also widely expected that Cousins and Kyle Shanahan are destined to join forces with the 49ers in 2018.

Opportunities don’t come often like this, which is why Shanahan and Lynch need to weigh negotiations with the Washington Redskins very seriously.
