The 49ers announced on Wednesday afternoon that they re-signed linebacker Brock Coyle. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the three-year extension is worth up to $11.5 million, including $4.1 million guaranteed.

On February 11th, 49ers standout linebacker Reuben Foster was arrested for the second time this offseason, this time for allegations of domestic violence, threats, and possession of an assault weapon. Over two weeks later at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, general manager John Lynch made his first public comments on the matter, but didn’t say all that much.

Tim Kawakami of The Athletic joined Gary & Larry on Tuesday afternoon and said that the 49ers need to properly handle Reuben Foster’s second arrest or else it could ruin their reputation.

With each passing day and no news on Reuben Foster’s future with the 49ers, it’s becoming increasingly clear that this one might take a while.

Sources have told reporter Robert Salonga that the domestic violence charge against Foster stems from his girlfriend’s claims that he physically dragged her in an attempt to remove her from the house.

Foster was released on Sunday evening after posting $75,000 bail, and met with the 49ers for the first time since the incident on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Following the meeting, the team is reportedly going through a “fact-finding process,” with “no quick resolution” to be expected.

49ers beat writer Matt Barrows joined Murph & Mac on Monday, and said that while the 49ers will treat the Foster case independently, it wouldn’t be surprising if the 49ers decide to part ways with the 31st overall pick in last year’s draft, depending on the specifics of the case.

49ers linebacker Reuben Foster was named to the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team on Tuesday. Foster is the only 49ers rookie to make the team for 2017. Third overall pick Solomon Thomas was not one of the four defensive linemen selected.
