49ers’ linebacker Reuben Foster blossomed into one of the NFL’s best young defensive players during his rookie season with San Francisco, but another off-the-field concern popped up for Foster as he was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana.

On Friday night, 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster was arrested in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a few miles away from his alma mater The University of Alabama, for second degree possession of marijuana, according to according to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest database.

The 49ers blew out the playoff-bound Rams 34-13 to beat a team that sat most of their star players for the post season run. For the 49ers, it was their fifth straight win.

Already looking like one of the best LBs in the league, Foster missed six games, and had to come out of nearly every game he played in, with various injuries this season. Many, including his defensive coordinator Robert Salah, have pointed to Foster’s tackling technique as one of the factors, and said earlier this week that the linebacker will have to learn to run through players, as opposed to launching his body at them, to protect himself in the future.

Rookie linebaker Reuben Foster could have planty of accolades in his future if he learns to stay healthy and play with the proper technique.

The 49ers are now stopping the run game, the next phase will be creating pass rush and succeeding on third down.
