Okay, so maybe 49ers first-round pick Javon Kinlaw didn’t jump off the screen in his NFL debut, but his tape is turning some heads.

An early-season injury pileup has taken hold in Santa Clara. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

As Kyle Shanahan hinted heavily on Monday, the 49ers are signing former Bengals, Falcons and Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu to a one-year deal, the player’s agent announced on Twitter on Tuesday.

That was not the best Jimmy Garoppolo has looked.

Deebo Samuel was supposed to play in Week 1. At the very least, the 49ers said they thought he was close to being available.

It’s hard enough to contain Kyler Murray when he’s scrambling around. Even harder when the calls don’t go your way.

The inability to corral Russell Wilson has served as nightmare fuel for the 49ers and their fans for years. Now there’s another quarterback to worry about.

Kyler Murray is inherently an issue for defenses. He has premier arm talent and a knack for escaping pressure and scrambling for a half-dozen yards on just about every down.

The 49ers are looking to make one of the best defenses in the NFL even better.

Week 1 is upon us.
