Giants catcher Buster Posey and shortstop Brandon Crawford were each awarded Gold Gloves on Tuesday, given to the best defensive players at each position in each league annually. Both won another award for their defensive excellence on Friday, with Major League Baseball naming both Posey and Crawford the Defensive Players of the Year at their respective positions.

Though not as prestigious as the Gold Glove, the Wilson Defensive Player of the Year is awarded annually by the league to the best defensive players at each position in all of baseball. This marks the second time Crawford has won the award, also winning in 2012 when it was awarded multiple players at each position in each league. This is the first time Posey has won the award, after winning the first Gold Glove of his career on Monday.
